Year 4 have been investigating the continent of South America. The children found all the countries that made up the continent, but concentrated on the countries of Argentina and Suriname. In the activity shown, the children compared charts and tables for Suriname and Buenos Aires (Argentina). They considered land use, land cover, climate and rainfall and began to make predictions on why they are so different even though they are in the same continent.
