We have been learning different types of words through rhyme and building a collection of each to help us with our writing. Today we played verb charades to think of different doing words.
While we have been reading our book Unpoppable, we decided to send balloons on a journey ourselves. We attached letters to them and made sure to use only environmentally friendly products.
As part of brushing our teeth each day, we completed an investigation into that different foods do to our teeth. We made predictions and discussed the findings.
What a fantastic first week we've had in Year 1; we have spent time in the garden observing mini-beasts, completed some work to further our understanding of number and place value and have begun to write our first narrative!
