Continuing our Ancient Greek topic; pupils studied the famous Battle of Marathon and found out about the Ancient Olympics. Children investigated the difference between education today and education in Ancient Greece. The class then created a dance based around the Olympics.
Children in Year 5 have developed an understanding of computer programming. The class have used a series of algorithms and procedures to create their own games. As a part of the work the class had to solve problems in their algorithms, before adding multiple levels of increasing difficulty to their game.
In Science we have covered the unit: Animals including Humans. The class researched a variety of animal habitats and found out about animal and plant reproduction. Children also looked at the gestation periods of animals and compared them with humans.
