Core Texts

 

Over the course of the year, Year 4 will be studying three core texts in addition to topic led reading.  These will drive the learning throughout the year.

 

Autumn 

Journey to the River Sea by Eva Ibbotson.

This is the story of a young girl who travels to the Amazon River in a bid to find her family.

 

Spring -

Greek Myths by Marcia Williams

This book presents eight Greek myths in the form of a comic strip.

 

Summer - 

Escape from Pompeii by Christina Balit

This book follows Tranio, a young Roman boy and how he witnesses the destruction of everything he knows.
