Admission to primary school
Shirley Manor is designated as a Primary School and we educate children from 4+ through to eleven years of age. We also have the facility of an on-site Nursery which caters for children aged 3+.
All children are admitted into our Reception classes in the September of the academic year in which they are five.

Nursery
Entry to Nursery happens throughout the year. Our nursery takes children from their third birthday.
To register your child for a place in Nursery, please contact the school office using the contact details above. We will need to see your child’s birth certificate.

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council Admission Arrangements for September 2023-2024 are below. The Admissions Policy of the school is common to most Bradford schools and is outlined in the document “Admission Arrangements” which is published by Bradford Council’s Children’s Services.

Starting School in September 2023
If your son or daughter is due to start school in September 2023 (born between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018), please ensure you apply for a Reception Class place by
completing an online application via Bradford Council's website. Online applications open on 15th November and close on 15th January 2024.
