Autumn 1

Year 3 were given the homework task of recreating Stonehenge using objects/materials around their homes.
Look at how creative they have been!

Science Rocks!

We split into three teams (Sedimentary, Igneous and Metamorphic) and closely looked at the properties of rock types in our group.

Sedimentary Team – chalk, sandstone and limestone

Igneous Team – Granite and obsidian

Metamorphic Team – Quartzite, marble and slate

Our job was to come up with keywords to describe our rocks and use these to compare the properties of different types of rocks from the other groups.   

We really enjoyed handling the different types of rocks and did a great job at describing their properties!
