Running alongside the previously show work (STEM Week DT) the children also developed their catering skills.  

During our investigations into digestion and discussions relating to healthy eating, the Year 4 teaching team decided to show the children how to make a basic tomato sauce recipe that they could use as a base for many other dishes. The children were able to use fresh ingredients for the recipe and began to think about the differences between fresh ingredients and ready made sauces.

The children used the sauce for pizza, pasta bake and a mild bean chilli.


The whole class participated in the 'taste test' at the end of each session!
