Shahid and Jane came into class to discuss their roles as neighbourhood wardens, with a particular focus on keeping the area clean and safe.  They discussed the penalties for littering, including dog fouling and fly tipping.  They discussed how littering can affect the environment for both humans and animals. They also discussed how the use of CCTV can identify people guilty of littering.

After the discussions, which the children were very keen to retell their own stories, Shahid allowed the children to participate in some role play.  Shahid, or the other children, threw rubbish on the floor.  This was spotted by a neighbourhood warden and challenged.  If the guilty person, refused to pick up the rubbish, the warden would point out that their misdemeanour and subsequent refusal was caught and camera, and if the rubbish was not removed, the police would be called.
